Doesn't Cost Nothing
The pieces I've included below are pretty close to the surface. They're about the last two months of the year, and about their costs, in dollars, and in psychic energy. But I'd like to make a larger point here, namely, I'm worried, particularly about smaller independent schools. About schools in small markets, or with no salient programmatic niche, or with a history of unrealistic budgeting. These are the characteristics of schools that have always struggled, but in our current economic and political climate, the thin margins that have allowed these schools to live on, are disappearing.
